Location Tracking Service

The Location Tracking Service (LTS) enables users to acquire the current location and track the movement of a mobile subscriber. The unique aspect of this service is that it can track any mobile user regardless of the Mobile Network Operator they are using. The service is usually utilised by Law Enforcement Agencies and comes with a straightforward and easy-to-use GUI which displays MSISDN locations on a map.

LTS High Level Architecture

The LTS connects to the Mobile Network via MAP, MLP, or Diameter SLh/SLg protocols depending on existing network infrastructure. It can also be integrated with optional third-party information systems (via HTTP/SOAP or MLP) and additional trusted CellID Databases.

Use Cases

Law Enforcement. The LTS can be employed by law enforcement agencies to locate and track any person with a known MSISDN. The service also allows to expose and prevent organized crime as multiple MSISDNs can be tracked in relation to each other and/or any known location.
Emergency Services. The LTS can be used as a part of an enhanced emergency response system by allowing the service provider to track the caller’s location as soon as the call is made. The service can be used to help people who are unable to describe their emergency and location to the operator.
Transport Industry. The service allows shipping or passenger transportation companies to determine the current location and movement of any vehicle in their fleet. Tracking is done via the driver’s mobile phone, so there is no need to install any additional equipment or software.

Key Benefits

Supported Networks. The LTS can detect the location of a subscriber using any MNO and works with 2G, 2.5G, 3G, and 4G/LTE networks.
GMLC Functionality. The LTS service implements full Gateway Mobile Location Center functionality by pulling subscriber’s location information and accepting push requests from the network. It can also reuse the operator’s existing GMLC via the MLP protocol.
Scalability and Flexibility. The service can be employed to locate and track an unlimited number of MSISDNs and locations at any given time and add/remove them on demand without interrupting the scanning process.
Autonomous Database Growth. Whenever the service queries an external database, the result is stored in the local DB for future usage, continuously expanding the local DB.
Multiple Level Access. Administrators can view and manage, create, delete, update, and block all users and their requests. Standard users can only see their own requests and cannot view or cancel requests made by other users.
Real-time Notifications. The service’s user can be notified by email, SMS message, or directly to monitoring console whenever a tracked subscriber enters or leaves a designated area or 2 or more subscribers from a single group meet in the same cell.
